The last two weeks have been a whirlwind: Packing up all our belongings in the UK and relocating back to the US! We have recovered from jet lag and have been happily living back in New Mexico USA for the past week.
It is amazing being back. Things are much more familiar this time; when we first relocated here (from Australia) back in 2012, everything was unknown. This time it is just like returning home and we have enjoyed being back very much.
Things to look forward to over the next few months, taking us to the end of 2018:
The International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque
The seasons changing: Summer to Autumn to Winter (we arrived back here on the last day of Summer)
Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year
And what have been some of the highlights so far?
Watching hummingbirds as we eat breakfast each morning
Eating New Mexican food! (“Christmas” = Red & Green Chile)
Our five year old discovering a lizard in a tree
Seeing lots of familiar faces from when we were here the first time
… and the more difficult things:
The first five days, getting over the jet lag and helping the kids recover from it as well!
Seasonal allergies that hit me within 48 hours of our return
… but all in all, it is wonderful to be back!
See you again next time,
